First she
created a file and labelled it with her name and created three more folders
inside called Home Work and Study. She then set up back up procedures,
automatic scheduling and deletion of unwanted data. She then deleted all
temporary files. She the wiped down and cleaned the keyboard, mouse, and
display screen. She found that the mouse was a little bit damaged so she
threw it in the bin and replaced it by purchasing and plugging another one
in. She then refilled the printer paper as it had gotten low and the printer
itself was flashing a ‘Paper Low’ alert.

P6.configure a computer system to meet user needs
For P6, learners must configure some basic system settings, such as
left and right mouse buttons, powersaving options, screen resolution, desktop
theme, font size, default language setting, default folder locations etc.

Lucia
changed the font size to large by accessing the control panel, and changing
the font size to Medium – 125% and pressing apply.
She then
changed the icon size by going on to the desktop and selecting Display
Properties, then click on the Appearance button. She then selected the
Effects button and placed a check mark on the Use Large Icons. Then she
pressed ok, then ok again to close the Display Properties dialogue box.
To change
the colour, she opened up the control panel, clicked on the Desktop tab, and
clicked Colour to display all available colours. She then pressed Other and
dragged the mouse into the colour matrix, then clicked Add to Custom Colours
and pressed Ok.
